Milan-Fashion Capital of The World

Milan, the fashion capital of the world, is the perfect destination if you want to combine fashion, great bargains, castles, cathedrals, great evenings, renowned paintings and of course sumptuous food. Milan is suitable for everyone, from the art enthusiast to the fashion addict. Situated in Italy, it offers for some precious shopping moments in Via Monte Napoleone and the Golden Triangle, since you can get access to famous designer wear of Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Donna Versace and the like. Those who can’t afford high end stuff can put their bargaining skills to use in the street shops laid with good quality materials.

An evening with friends can be kick started at various restaurants with the aperitifs and cocktails at special hours, with unlimited snacks like potato chips, pasta, salads and sandwiches on offer. Special dishes like Panettone (Milan’s Christmas cake), Mascarpone (typical Milanese cheese) force you to go on binge eating. Good wine is available at Peck, apart from salami, different oils, vinegars, etc. Reasonably priced food and hotels can be found at Navigli District.

Art lovers can spend their day at Castello Sforzesco, which houses several of the city’s museum and art gallery collections admiring the works of famous painters. Leonardo’s Last Supper is a must see. The Duomo di Milano, the fourth largest church in the world is on top of the places-to-visit list of tourists. In addition to its beauty made up of marbles and ancient history, it also houses ivories and vases belonging to ancient princes. Soccer fans can get a feel of cheering for their favourite team by watching a match between Inter and AC Milan, while enjoying popcorns and soft drinks. At Corso Di Porta Romana, an ancient roman gate provides for a look into the history of Milan.

Evenings with your soul mate can be enhanced by a visit to the ballet or opera house, LaScala, or by taking a walk around Giardini Pubblici, which takes you away from the hustle-bustle of the city. Couples can spend quality time in Lago d’Orto, a lake offering breathtaking views and excellent pictures. And what better way to round off the evening than to have a cup of coffee at one of the costliest cafes- Just Cavalli Cafe, owned by Roberto Cavalli. Who knows? You may even bump into your favourite star.
