How to Baby Proof Your Home

There are lots of matters to be taken care of when living with a toddler. When it comes to the matter of the safety of their baby, parents are willing to do whatever it takes to keep their baby safe and sound. Baby proofing your home becomes an absolute necessity for the safety and comfort your new born.

The first thing to be looked into is the crib which is prepared for the toddler. The mattress used should fit well into the crib and shouldn’t cause the child to slip into the space between the mattress and crib.

Also no electric blankets should be used for the toddler. The screws and bolts of the crib should be tightly secured and the crib should be installed properly so as to prevent it from collapsing. You can also install a safety belt for your baby’s changing table. The need for concern increases when the baby starts moving around the house.

Clean your home thoroughly. Scan the floors and remove all small things which the baby will put into his mouth. You won’t be able to say what your baby might end up eating. Store screws, nuts, buttons and similar things at a place very much out of the baby’s reach. Pronunciacion de canciones

All the corners and the edges of the furniture should be covered up well. If there are any electrical outlets within the baby’s reach, do cover them up too. Plastic socket plugs can be inserted into outlets which are of no immediate use. These baby safe outlet covers will be difficult for the child to pull off or remove and hence it will protect him from dangers of any electrical shocks.

It will be better to say goodbye to all your indoor plants, as your child might end up playing with the dirt or eating a leaf or so. Close all the cabinets and secure them with child safety locks and straps. Use locks and baby gates to prevent your baby from going into areas out of his limits.

Place screened barrier around fireplaces and portable heaters. Position your television out of your infant’s immediate reach. Use a toilet lid lock. Also cover your tub faucet with a soft inflated cover to protect the baby’s head in bath. Thus by baby proofing your home, you can make it a safer place for your baby to live in.
