Never ending Fun at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

Sad that’s its summer time again and that you will have to wait till next winter for it to snow again? Well, there’s no need to worry about that anymore. Whenever you feel like having some wintry fun, head out to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park where it’s only snow and water the year around.

The theme park was formerly a ski resort. Accordingly, a particularly strong winter storm covered the mountains of Central Florida with several feet of snow. Once the snow melted off,the slopes of the mountains became popular water rides with people sliding down at extreme speeds to splash into the lake below. Apparently, the slopes of the mountain are what constitute the water slides in the park today.

Created by the world famous Walt Disney Resort, the Disney’s Blizzard Beach Park is quite magical in appearance and boasts of housing some of the most thrilling water rides in the world, which include the tallest and fastest “near vertical water slide” in addition to several smaller slides and various family attractions.

Getting There: The park is located within Walt Disney Resort and shuttle buses can take you to and fro between different theme parks present in the resort. If you have a car and wish to drive around the resort at your own pace, you will be glad to know that the resort provides complimentary parking facilities at different theme parks in case you want to stop by one for some time.

Need to know facts: If you are new to the resort and have trouble getting around, you can get a “Guest Services at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park” list from the front lobby which offers useful tips on the park and its attractions in addition to other necessary information about renting lockers and safety measures to be followed.

A good way to keep your belongings intact and safe would be to rent a locker and stash away everything before you hit the rides. Most of the bigger rides tend to toss you around quite a bit and you may end up losing your wallet, glasses or jewelry on these rides. The park offers complimentary life jackets in addition to water shoes that make it easier to climb wet steps and move around on the blistering ground (remember, it’s summer!).

If you feel hungry after riding all those slides and tubes, you can dine at any one of the numerous restaurants located within the park. The outdoor pool bar, also present within the park offers tasty tidbits and cool drinks.

Attractions to visit: There’s something for everyone in the family in Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and you can choose from a horde of water rides to enjoy. These include Toboggan Racers, the Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher and the Downhill Double Dipper among others.

The Chair Life ride takes you on an artificial ski lift ride to the top of Mount Gushmore which offers panoramic views of the entire park in addition to providing access to a number of slides and attractions.

The first thing you would want to do on Mount Gushmore would be to challenge your friends to a toboggan race which has you and seven other riders race down a giant waterslide to see who reaches the bottom first. Cambiar bañera por plato de ducha | Mamparas - Bricoducha

Again a ride meant for teens and adults, the Downhill Double Dipper Ride starts at the top of Mount Gushmore and ends at the bottom with riders racing each other on identical inner tubes.

The Runoff Rapids ride offers three water slides for adults and teens to choose from for a twisting ride to the bottom of the mountain.

Suitable for adults and teens, the Slush Gusher ride has riders moving down a 90 foot water slide before being tossed over two humps on the way to reach the bottom of Mount Gushmore. The grand daddy of all these rides is of course the Summit Plummet which sees riders plummeting down a 120 feet water slide at nearly 60 miles per hour. This ride also requires riders to be either teens or adults with a minimum height of 48 inches.

The smaller kids can have their share of fun sliding down Mount Gushmore in the Snow Stormers Ride which has three water slides that can be ridden on toboggan style mats.

If you want to go on a more peaceful ride with the entire family, you can opt for either the Cross Country Creek Ride or the Teamboat Springs Ride. While both rides take you on a raft trip through a river, the former is a lazy boat ride while the latter is a little bit faster and more winding.

The Ski Patrol Training Camp is an interactive water playground that enables pre teens and big kids to hang out in a large free form pool in addition to enjoying various water activities. The Melt Away Bay resembles a real beach and is a one acre wave pool. Suitable for teens and adults, the wave pool has several fountains and beach chairs for visitors to relax on.

In all the excitement, if you feel your toddler may feel left out, don’t worry. The Tike’s Peak area will get rid of your infant’s watery pangs. The zone has a special play area designed in the water for infants. The play area has a snow castle fountain, small slides and little jets of water that pop up at regular intervals. With so much to do in shallow waters, your tot’s not going to complain at all.
