What’s the best part of eating out apart from all the awesome varieties of food you get to taste? The thrill of hanging out with loved ones at your favorite diners, restaurants and eateries!

And when you get to hang out with your loved ones, munch down on your favorite food and experience something new or extraordinary to go along with it, how would you feel?

Elated? Well, that’s just what lies in store for you at these restaurants in the USA that although are termed bizarre by several diners, still serve the purpose of mixing food with pleasure and creativity.

They may not look or feel like the standard restaurants that you normally visit. However, they don’t fail to pack a punch when it comes to providing something different, enjoyable and exciting for customes; qualities that are considered extremely important for eateries to survive in today’s competition driven world.

Casa Bonita, Colorado: Located in the town of Denver, the Casa Bonita restaurant welcomes its guests with a Disney smile. The entire restaurant (which covers over 52,000 square feet) looks like one huge Disneyland prop, complete with the works.

Apart from enjoying all the beef ecnhiladas you can eat at this extremely popular Mexican hangout, you get to witness and even take part in cowboy shootouts, cliff diving, and gorilla hunting; not to forget mentioning the spate of traditional Mexican performances.

Opaque, California: Heard of the hotel in Italy which prompts diners to dine in the dark? Well, if you want to experience the same, there’s no need to travel all the way to Italy for that. You can very well opt to dine at the Opaque restaurant which is located in Los Angeles.

Diners to this hotel will be led into a pitch black room after placing their orders. Seated at their tables, they would need to dine in the dark. You got to admit it! Groping for your food in the dark, feeling its texture, inhaling its aroma and then tasting it, all sans any visual stimulation is definitely a one of a kind enthralling experience. Added to the excitement is a sense of revelation when you find out that the people aiding you into the room and serving you are in fact partially or totally blind. And what you find so difficult to do, they manage to accomplish with ease! Because they are used to being in the dark 24 hours! A thought provoking dining experience indeed!

Safe House, Wisconsin: Always wanted to become a secret government spy after watching all those James Bond movies? Well, at the Safe House in Milwaukee, your dreams may just come true. For this diner would require you to become a spy in order to enter it.

Opened in 1966, the restaurant was designed and built based on the theme of espionage. Complete with a fake front which is supposedly called International Exports Ltd., the resturant requires diners to utter a secret code to the doorman before being granted access.

Once inside, diners are treated to a series of mazes, secret passages and spy holes before reaching the dining area. Most of the spy holes along the way are covered with souvenirs and mementos from popular spy movies and books.

Tony Packo’s, Ohio: You have probably heard about restaurants that deck up their walls with cups and mementos signed by celebrities. But hot dog buns?

That’s exactly what you would find in Tony Packo’s, a small Hungarian pickle and hot dog restaurant that has been in operation since 1932. In addition to having the best Hungarian hot dogs ever on this side of the town for only thirty five cents; the hotel offers its diners a chance to view its celebrity gallery which is filled with glass encased hot dogs, which have been signed by famous celebrities who frequented the place over the years.
