St Catherine’s Monastery

A visit to this 4th century Christian monastery is most rewarding. It is about a three-and-a-half-hour journey and is one of the most remarkable antiquities in the Middle East, not far from the birthplace of Jesus Christ. It was built on the site where Moses was confronted by the Burning Bush and was appointed by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. The journey is enjoyable although a bit tiring.
