The Colosseum
The Colosseum is the number one tourist attraction in Rome and draws over four million tourists every year. The Colosseum is an oval amphitheatre and regarded as one of the greatest works of Roman engineering. It took eight years to build the monument and the construction finished in 80 AD by the Roman emperor Titus.

The Colosseum had the capacity of seating fifty thousand spectators and during the Roman Era it was used for public events like gladiatorial competitions, executions, animal hunts and re-enactments of naval battles. The outer rim of the Colosseum is made of travertine which stretches 527 meters and is four stories in height. The interior was made of marble, tufa and brick, of which little remains today. The arena floor was covered with a wooden flooring and waterproof canvas.
Pantheon
The Pantheon in Rome is an astonishing temple which was converted into a Roman Catholic Church. Built in 125 AD, the Pantheon is the most complete ancient Roman building in the city which was built in dedication to the Roman gods. Subsequent to its conversion into a church it has been devoted to Virgin Mary and called as “Santa Maria della Rotonda”.

The Trevi Fountain is located in the Trevia district of the city. The fountain is twenty-six meters in height and twenty meters in width. It is one of the most renowned fountains in the world and the biggest Baroque fountain in Rome.
