However, it is a fully developed bird that boasts an extraordinary record within the animal kingdom.

The hummingbird is the smallest bird on the planet. Adults are barely a few inches in length and weigh less than a lot of coins. Its reduced size allows it to easily access tiny flowers where it gets the nectar that makes up much of its food.
