The island of Samos in the North Aegean Sea is mainly known to travelers as just a stopping point between Greece and Turkey. Kerveli is the exact opposite of Potokaki. The island is secluded and has no organization at all. But it is surrounded by a lot of greenery, which makes it a great spot for relaxing.
The top places to visit and observe in Samos are the Heraion Sanctuary and the Tunnel of Eupalinus. The Heraion Sanctuary was constructed for goddess Hera, who, according to Greek myth, was born in this village. The temple suffered indignities in the 6th century BC, but was never renovated and was later converted into a church.
Although dry today, the Tunnel of Eupalinus used to be the aquaduct of Samos in ancient times. It is heralded as one of the greatest technological creations in ancient times. Other places worth mentioning in this article are the picturesque Waterfalls, Panagia Spiliani and Castle of Lykourgos Logothetis.
